Change in PHO

Stoke & Waimea Medical has previously been affiliated with Nelson Bays Primary Health (NBPH). NBPH is one of a number of Primary Health Organisations (PHOs) that are contracted by Health New Zealand/Te Whatu Ora to provide primary health services and manage contracts with general practice.

After careful consideration, we decided to move to thePHO, a newly formed organisation that supports practices throughout New Zealand. This change took place on 1 July 2026. We believe this decision is the best way to support our patients and our practice into the future.

While PHOs provide important support and funding, your day-to-day healthcare continues to be delivered by your trusted general practice team.
