New Prescription Lengths

GPs and other prescribers may be able to issue some patients with a prescription for 12 months –

if it is clinically safe to do so.

If :

·       You agree to a yearly-in person review

·        You do not need regular monitoring ( like blood test or blood pressure checks )

·        Your condition and medication are stable for at least 6 months

·        Your medication is approved to be prescribed 12 monthly

**********

N.B. You will still need to collect medicines in 3 months instalments from the same pharmacy.

You will not be able to collect 12 months of medications from the pharmacy at once, even with a 12 month prescription.
